What is asset allocation?

Asset Allocation refers to the composition of a portfolio and details the percentage of each of the main asset classes.

Asset Allocation is an investment strategy that uses your account goals, risk tolerance, and investment time horizon to set an appropriate balance of asset classes. The main asset classes are Equities (stocks), Fixed Income (bonds), Real Estate, Commodities and Cash or Cash Equivalents.
